Modern Bus Transit System approved by NEDA.

National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) approved the project that will link a rapid transportation for the cities of Paranaque, Taguig, Makati, Quezon City and Valenzuela through the C-5 Modern Bus Transit System(C-5 MBTS).

Two major infrastructure projects in the energy and transport sectors have been given the green light.

June 16, 2015, National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) approved the project that will link a rapid transportation for the cities of Paranaque, Taguig, Makati, Quezon City and Valenzuela through the C-5 Modern Bus Transit System(C-5 MBTS).

The C-5 MBTS involves the implementation of a new bus scheme that will offer modern bus with high quality service. It will improve the connectivity among the cities of Paranaque, Taguig, Makati, Quezon City and Valenzuela, through the proposed modern bus-based public transport system. as announced by PPP.

It will feature formal designated stops and schedules; high quality air-conditioned buses with multiple doors; weather protected bus stations; convenient and efficient fare payment system; and adequate passenger information tools at stations and on-board buses. The private partner will finance, construct and develop a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system along the C-5 corridor. while running an interim bus service that will later transition into a BRT.

The whole project cost is PhP 6.28 Billion or 0.13956 Billion in US Dollar, under the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).

The C-5 road which is currently operating from Mc Arthur highway in Valenzuela to the stretch of Coastal Road in Las Piñas.

in the up coming years C-5 will connect the Mindanao Avenue to the Segment 10. which is under construction. this will be a portion of the C-5, Connecting Mindanao Avenue to the Mariano Naval Street. The road goes to the Skyway (NLEX-SLEX Link or Skyway Stage 3), C-3 Letre Road and Manila North Harbor up to New SLEX Interchange.

The C-5 MBTS passes through some key areas of the Metro, such as Bonifacio Global City (Makati/Taguig), Eastwood City (Quezon City), Ateneo de Manila University, Miriam College, University of the Philippines Diliman.

This project aims to fasten the travel time of people, to decongest the traffic in metro manila and to provide alternative routes for the passengers.
